Through its support to innovative interdisciplinary approaches, A*MIDEX promotes scientific daring and encourages the production of innovative knowledge, that may be potentially fruitful. This second “Interdisciplinary” call for projects, implemented within the five intersectorial and interdisciplinary research groups (PR2I) of Aix-Marseille University, aims to support research projects with a strong added value and addressing societal challenges identified in the context of European, national and regional science policies. Therefore this is a way to improve the positioning of projects led by AMU and its partners in national, European and more generally in international programs.
Starting from Autumn 2014, the Aix-Marseille site will welcome seven young talents, who will benefit from "Rising Star" packaged chairs funded by A*MIDEX. These chairs, backed up by host research units of AMU and its partners, will help to strengthen the scientific potential of the site, by the development of new research topics and the creation of synergies with teams on site.
Tuesday, 16th september 2014: the A*MIDEX Foundation is launching a new call for projects "Hospital-University Departments" (DHU), together with the local committee for biomedical research and public health (CRBSP). The deadline to submit a letter of intent is set on 3rd october 2014 at 12.00, on the A*MIDEX website.
27 PhD students will be funded by A*MIDEX for the next 3 years to carry out their doctoral studies under the supervision of Aix-Marseille University and one of the best universities worldwide.
A*MIDEX has created the « Excellence Academy » label to develop and give better visibility to the most innovative and attractive training programs of the Aix-Marseille site. Under this label, the training programs are supported throughout their development process: pedagogical development and innovations, internationalization, students and pedagogical staff exchanges, hosting of guest lecturers, establishment of innovative partnerships… In the framework of a 2nd call for proposals, launched in Fall 2013 and closed in January 2014, eight training programs have been awarded the “Excellence Academy” label for the 2 next academic years.
