Nicolas Bonod

Nicolas Bonod is a CNRS research scientist working in optics and photonics in Institut Fresnel, campus of Saint Jérôme, Marseille. He is co-author of 60 publications, 1 book chapter and he co-edited a book on plasmonics published in 2012 by Springer editions.

He defended in 2004 his PhD thesis dedicated to the development and to the applications of a numerical method for electromagnetism modelling. He worked for two years at the French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission (CEA) on the conception of an optical component for a high powerful laser chain. Thereafter, he was employed by CNRS to work on electromagnetic resonances aiming at enhancing light matter interaction at a nanometer scale.

His current research activities cover the design and analysis of sub-micrometric scaled photonic resonators able to trap light into very small volumes and to modify light emission properties of quantum emitters.
