Rising stars

Attracting, retaining and developing talents is a key issue for an excellent research university. Indeed, getting access to the highest international recognition requires a supportive environment, i.e. a “package” composed of a team, specific services, and adequate support to enable young scientists to fulfill their potential.

The Rising Stars Fund is set in order to promote young academics (5 to 10 years experienced) who have been awarded an ERC starting grant or with the potential to reach ERC recognition. This fund will be opened to both internal and external candidates through an international call for applications. An international and interdisciplinary committee of former ERC laureates will assess applicants on two major criteria: (i) having been awarded an ERC starting grant or with ability to reach ERC level considering his/her academic potential and track record ; (ii) relevance of the applicant's scientific project with AMU's and its partners' own potential and strategy. Applications should compulsorily be supported by AMU's scientific teams/institutes involved in the excellence perimeter in order to increase their potential and ensure the quality of their pull effect over the whole site.
